Masculine Sensibilities

Masculine Sensibilities is a collection of paintings exhibited at Art2Muse Gallery in 2023. Representing Jackson’s first solo show these works are exploration of the male form in a variety of domestic and imagined settings. Personal experience and history imagery informed the subject matter of the works. Revering the Old Masters, Jackson in this exhibition sought to find new ways of portraying the male form whilst drawing inspiration from traditional painting techniques. Departing from life painting studies, Masculine Sensibilities represents Jackson’s desire to forge his own voice by experimenting with subject matter, developing narratives and a strong commitment to his craft.
